Reproductive Psychiatry in NYC

Reproductive Psychiatry

Reproductive psychiatry is a subspecialty of psychiatry that focuses on the mental health of individuals, particularly women, throughout different stages of their reproductive life. This includes managing psychiatric symptoms related to the menstrual cycle, infertility, pregnancy, postpartum periods, and menopause.

Psychotherapy and medication management

  • Pregnancy and post-partum mood changes

Many women struggle silently with mood changes, anxiety, or intrusive thoughts during pregnancy and after birth. You might find yourself feeling overwhelmed, irritable, tearful, or disconnected from your baby or your partner. Some days, even simple tasks can feel impossible. You may have racing thoughts, constant worry about your baby’s safety, or guilt for not feeling as joyful or bonded as you expected to. You might even have upsetting or unwanted thoughts that feel out of character and leave you feeling ashamed or afraid to tell anyone.

You’re not alone in feeling this way and it doesn’t mean you’re a bad mother or that you’re failing. These symptoms are common and treatable, and with the right support, you can feel like yourself again. You’re not alone, and help is available.

  • Thoughtful, Personalized, Evidence-Based Care

I’m a psychiatrist and psychotherapist specializing in reproductive mental health. My mission is to support women with warmth, science, and a personalized approach through some of the most challenging life transitions. Taking an evidence-based approach is an essential part of my practice.

There’s a lot of misinformation out there about what’s “safe” in pregnancy and postpartum, which can make it hard to know where to turn. That’s where I come in. I will be in your corner to help you make informed, confident decisions about your care. Sometimes this means working together through psychotherapy, monitoring symptoms, and exploring coping strategies; other times, it may include medication management. Either way, our work is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in science.
