About Dr. Kathleen Hanlon

Kathleen Hanlon, MD, is Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She graduated with honors from Wellesley College and earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix.  She then completed her Psychiatry Residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical Center.

In residency, Dr. Hanlon obtained additional advanced training in reproductive psychiatry through the Payne Whitney Women’s Program, which includes treatment of people who are planning to get pregnant, pregnant, postpartum, in the menopausal transition, and experiencing symptoms related to the menstrual cycle.

Dr. Hanlon is now in full-time private practice. She sees patients online anywhere in NY and CT, as well as in-person at her office on the Upper West Side.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Hanlon is passionate about teaching, and enjoys teaching medical students about how to diagnose psychiatric conditions at Weill Cornell Medical College and she is an Ambassador Fellow at the National Neuroscience Curriculum Initiative (NNCI), where she collaborates on writing educational articles for psychiatrists, neurologists, and the general public.  

Dr. Hanlon is a member of Postpartum Support International and The American Psychiatric Association.
