Psychotherapy for Anxiety

  • The Weight of Constant Worry

Anxiety can take many forms, such as racing thoughts, constant worry, restlessness, or physical symptoms like a tight chest or trouble sleeping. You might find yourself overthinking everything, imagining worst-case scenarios, or feeling on edge even when things seem fine. For some, anxiety shows up as perfectionism, people-pleasing, or a constant pressure to perform. For others, it’s panic attacks that seem to come out of nowhere or a sense of dread that lingers no matter how much you try to reason with it. You may even feel embarrassed or frustrated that you “should be able to handle it,” yet can’t seem to quiet your mind.

You’re not alone in feeling this way, and it doesn’t mean you’re weak or broken. Anxiety is common and highly treatable. With the right support, you can learn to understand what fuels your anxiety and find more calm, balance, and confidence in your daily life.

  • Thoughtful and Individualized Care

I’m a psychiatrist and psychotherapist who helps people understand and manage anxiety with warmth, curiosity, and compassion. Together, we’ll explore not only how your anxiety shows up day to day, but also where it comes from—so that change feels lasting and meaningful.

For some people therapy alone is enough, while others find the greatest benefit from combining anti-anxiety medication with psychotherapy. Actually, research shows for people with moderate anxiety the most improvement is seen with this combination of treatment, rather than either medication or therapy alone. Since I have the option to provide both treatments, we can have a nuanced discussion about what may work best for you. Either way, our work is collaborative, compassionate, grounded in science, and tailored specifically to you.
