About Dr. Kathleen Hanlon
Kathleen Hanlon, MD, is Board Eligible in Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She graduated with honors from Wellesley College and earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. She then completed her Psychiatry Residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical Center. In residency, Dr. Hanlon obtained additional advanced training in reproductive psychiatry through the Payne Whitney Women’s Program, which includes treatment of people who are planning to get pregnant, pregnant, postpartum, in the menopausal transition, and experiencing symptoms related to the menstrual cycle.
Dr. Hanlon works with adults of all ages and treats a wide range of conditions to support mental health and well-being. She takes a holistic approach to mental health, integrating medications, psychotherapy, and/or lifestyle interventions to create a personalized treatment plan that addresses the full spectrum of a person’s mental health needs to help them achieve meaningful and lasting change. She sees most of her patients for psychotherapy one to two times weekly and medication management, if indicated, is addressed during regular psychotherapy appointments.
Dr. Hanlon is now in full-time private practice on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, where she sees patient both virtually and in-person.
